Career Shuttle to the NIH on April 9th

Join us on a Career Shuttle to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on Tuesday, April 9! The NIH is one of the worlds foremost medical research centers. Housed under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the NIH has 27 different institutes and centers across the nation which are committed to the mission of seeking fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and the application of that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability.

During our visit, we will take a tour of the behavioral labs and facilities, hear from current employees about their daily roles and responsibilities, and learn about internship and career opportunities. Learn more about internships and fellowships with NIH here: https://jobs.nih.gov/vacancies/student/default.htm. Lunch will not be provided, so be sure to bring a lunch with you, or have money for the cafeteria.

Students of all majors (undergraduate & graduate) are welcome to attend, though students with previous coursework in health-related fields may be the most interested in the opportunities available. Space is limited. Once the bus is full, you will be added to our waiting list and notified if a spot opens up. Please note, due to the limited space and the expected high demand for this trip, we will be enforcing our "no show" policy.

On Tuesday, April 9, we will meet promptly in the University Career Center (3100 Hornbake Library, South Wing) at 8:00 am. We will travel by bus to the NIH, departing from campus not later than 8:30 am. We will need to go through a security checkpoint before entering the NIH campus, so be sure to bring you official state ID with you. We will depart NIH around 3:00 pm and should be back to campus no later than 4:00 pm.
