Prince George's Audubon Society Communications Internship

 The Prince George’s Audubon Society seeks a communications intern for the 2023 spring

semester to—
1. Carry out a full upgrade and revamp of our chapter website, including set-up of tools for
email marketing
2. Integrate social media to augment our outreach
3. Help make the PGAS website a dynamic, electronic hub where members, volunteers and
the public can learn about and sign up to volunteer for and/or participate in PGAS
events such as bird walks, the Migration Festival and the Habitat Advisor program
*$17 per hour ($2,295 total), nine hours a week for the spring semester, virtual and in-person*
Qualifications—
1. Demonstrated ability to develop a website using Squarespace or a similar platform
2. Demonstrated ability to use Calendly or a similar software program
3. Ability to work both independently and with a team
4. Knowledge of best ways to reach a wider audience with social media tools
Preferred Interest/Knowledge—
Environmental studies and/or interest in the natural world
Opportunities will include—
1. Engagement with Audubon on Campus, a national program that supports student
conservationists
2. Training with naturalists who lead PGAS’s Audubon Wildlife Habitat Program
3. Deepened understanding of the role wildlife habitat plays in sustaining ecosystem
health
4. Mentorship and supervision provided by educator and co-founder of PGAS Wildlife
Habitat Program—a dynamic, grassroots effort to empower people to make beneficial
change in their own outdoor spaces
5. Hands-on experience with a growing environmental organization
