Education Program Manager Position at Eastern Shore Land Conservacy

The Eastern Shore Land Conservancy is a leading regional land trust on Maryland’s rural Eastern Shore responsible for preserving over 60,000 acres since 1990. The Education Program Manager’s primary responsibility is to support the Program Director with the daily operation and expansion of SEEC’s educational offerings. 
This responsibility encompasses, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Leading interdisciplinary outdoor lessons and activities for school groups, camps, community groups and public.
  • Regular communication with teachers and school administrators.
  • Care and maintenance for gear, equipment and tools used for programs.
  • Fundraising support.
  • Communication with Maryland Department of Natural Resources Park Service.
  • Risk assessment and monitoring.
  • Documentation of first aid and canoe training.
  • Outdoor labor such as trail maintenance, gardening and tree monitoring as projects require.

We’d like to see folks applying who have environmental backgrounds or degrees and at least one year of teaching experience. However, we don’t want to discourage candidates who are passionate about environmental education who may not necessarily have those exact qualifications.

  1. Trees are an investment that require proper tree care; however, pruning or removing trees, especially large trees, can be dangerous work. Tree work should be done only by those trained and equipped to work safely in trees. Contact your nearest Tree Company.
