Student Worker Position at UMD's Turfgrass Research Facility Available

The University of Maryland Turfgrass Science Program is looking for workers to assist with the setup, maintenance, and evaluation of summer research trials.

This is a unique opportunity for those interested in turfgrass or agricultural field-based research. Workers will gain valuable experience in evaluating both chemical and cultural control measures to limit turfgrass pests throughout the growing season, equipment operation for managing a variety of turfgrasses, and a thorough understanding of conducting research aimed at improving turfgrass in the Mid-Atlantic.

Responsibilities include participation in all aspects of trial maintenance and research at our nationally recognized 35 acre facility. Applicants must be able to lift 50 pounds, operate self powered machinery and work outdoors on a daily basis. Must be a UMD student and have a valid driver's license.

The Facility is located just north of the University Courtyards Apartments (395 Greenmeade Drive) and offers free parking and easy access to a nearby shuttle bus route. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone pursuing a career in the turfgrass industry. Hourly pay is $11.92 per hour.
