Climate Advocacy Conferences, Training, Scholarships, and More

Citizens' Climate Lobby is a nonprofit environmental organization that works on solutions for climate change. They are inviting students to apply for the following opportunities to further their education and civic engagement on climate change.

2019 CCL June Conference
Registration is open for the 2019 Citizens' Climate International Conference and Lobby Day!  The conference takes place June 8-11 in Washington DC. This wonderful event features two and a half days of speakers, workshops, and networking sessions on climate change and one day of meetings with members of Congress. On Lobby Day, our volunteers meet with over 500 congressional offices on Capitol Hill (that's every member of Congress). Students can use code STUDENT50 for a 50% discount. Please register by May 1.

CCL is offering scholarships to assist people of color and conservatives to come to the conference. For more information and to apply, see the Diversity Scholarship and Conservative Scholarship application forms. Applicants receive $250 or $500 to assist with the cost of travel to the conference. Application deadline is March 31st. If you have questions, please email morgan@citizensclimate.org.

2019 Climate Policy Camp
Dive deep into climate policy with CCL's Climate Policy Camp! Offered June 5-7, 2019 on the campus of American University, students learn about domestic and international climate policies to deepen their understanding of CCL's climate solution. Students can apply for a fellowship that includes waived registration fee and lodging in dorms, and free registration to the 2019 Citizens' Climate International Conference and Lobby Day, June 8-11.

Campus Leaders Program
We are currently looking for students to join the Campus Leaders Program to learn climate advocacy and do outreach on climate change at their school. Students in the program that are new to CCL would undergo a semester of education in climate advocacy via CCL's webinars, conferences, and one-on-one instruction. This would be followed by another semester leading a student group at their school to conduct a climate education and advocacy campaign. Students can apply to earn 1 credit for completing the first semester. Applications received in the Spring 2019 semester will start June 1, 2019. Download our 4-page brochure for more information.
