Gaithersburg Stormwater Program Manager

The Department of Public Works has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced, hands-on Stormwater Program Manager to plan, coordinate, implement, oversee, and lead the City's stormwater quality management program, which involves the development, implementation, and enforcement of City-wide stormwater and water quality ordinances, programs, and policies, as well as the City's compliance with applicable federal and state stormwater laws, rules, and permits.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in stormwater program management including delivering stormwater capital improvement projects, as well as construction management and staff management experience; be an innovative thinker who can anticipate problems before they develop; and possess a solution-based vision for community and for stormwater programs. You must have a clear and open communication style, excellent listening skills, and be able to negotiate in the public interest and balance conflicting and competing interests. Excellent analytical, customer service, interpersonal, verbal/written communication, and presentation skills are expected; a proven ability to lead by example, strong initiative, good judgment, and common sense are essential.

 
Starting salary is negotiable within the range depending on knowledge, qualifications, training, certifications, and experience.
