Chicken of the Woods Permaculture Farm Internship

Chicken of the Woods focuses on permaculture ethics of earth care, people care and closing waste loops on a 5 acre organic low-till suburban family farm in Darnestown, MD surrounded by Seneca Creek State Park. They operate a year-round hyperlocal Pastured Egg CSA, grow hemp and vegetables on biointensive raised beds and have nearly completed construction on a 30'x72' high tunnel for year-round use. Intern activities include organic market gardening, artisanal hemp production, composting, strawbale and other light construction and care of pastured chickens and goats. Additionally, opportunities are available to work with intermediate students on a nearby Montessori Student-run Organic Farm. For more information about this internship, click here.
