Two Positions Available at Old Maryland Farm

Old Maryland Farm, at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro, MD, has two positions open- an Assistant Farm Manager and Farm Assistant/Interpreter. It is a nice facility that brings agriculture to many Prince George's County residents! Old Maryland Farm is located within Watkins Regional Park and is an education facility, teaching people of all ages about agriculture, livestock, and gardening.

Assistant Farm Manager
Preferred Candidates will possess:

• Experience working on a farm with livestock
• Independently direct staff in day-to-day animal husbandry
• Has knowledge and takes appropriate action with regards to physiological needs and state of animals
• Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions
• Supervision and management experience
• Provide exceptional customer service and communicates with visitors, staff, and management
• Experience in conducting environmental or agricultural education programs
• Willingness to take initiative and follow through on tasks
• Preferred candidates will have a BA/BS in Animal Sciences or related field
• Valid Driver’s License

This position pays $18.00/hr-$25.00/hr dependent upon experience and qualifications.


Farm Assistant/Interpreter
Preferred Candidates will possess:

• Experience working with children
• Experience working on a farm
• Experience in conducting environmental or agricultural education lessons
• Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions
• BA/BS in Animal Sciences or Biology earned or in progress
• Valid Driver’s License

This position pays $11.65/hr-$16.80/hr dependent upon experience and qualifications.
