AGNR CrossTalks: The Intersection of Food and You & Horse Racing 101

We are excited to announce the kickoff of a new event/series that the college of AGNR Student Council is doing called CROSS TALKS!

While you are taking classes for your specific AGNR major, there are SO many amazing other topics of study happening at UMD. The mission of the CrossTalks series is to expose and educate ourselves to a variety of hot topics across the college of AGNR that may be outside your major or simply of interest to you. Essentially, they are critical conversations at the intersection of food, agriculture and the environment.

This is a one-of-a-kind event within the College of AGNR, and we are very excited to have our first kick-off Cross Talk event on Monday, April 26th from 5-6 pm.

Each Cross Talk will feature a guest speaker from UMD who specializes in the topic of the night. The speaker will do a mini-presentation on the topic and then there will be a roundtable discussion between participants and the speaker.

  • Monday April 26th - Topic = The Intersection of Food and You with Dr. Charlie Apter, who is a Lecturer in the Department of Animal and Avian Sciences. Register at go.umd.edu/crosstalkfood
