AEES along with alumni, students organizations, and faculty are in the process of trying to save LEAFhouse and keep it on campus to be used as a resource for student clubs now and in the future. If you are interested in participating in this endeavor, we encourage and welcome you to attend their planning meetings on Fridays from 6pm - 7pm in ESJ2101 (and zoom) starting this Friday, February 18th.

American Ecological Engineering Society LEAFhouse Planning Meetings
LEAFhouse is a solar powered house that was UMD's submission to the 2007 US Department of Energy Solar Decathlon. The project placed first nationally and second out of all teams, a crowning achievement for sustainability at UMD. To this day, LEAFhouse is located on the edge of campus under the ownership of AIA Potomac Valley. Unfortunately, there are currently plans to sell and move LEAFhouse off campus. If this happens, we would lose not just one of UMD’s crowning sustainable achievements, but also a space for community meetings, events, student projects, and gaining inspiration.
