DeLaval Internship: Dairy Advisory Internship
Intern Project description:
Dealerships struggle to justify funding a position that provides support directly to customers. Inherently, we understand that a good support network leads to higher customer satisfaction and retention. However, customer satisfaction has not been compared between dealerships of different structures. DeLaval Dairy Advisory is seeking an intern who will assist mentors with the following tasks:
Survey Eastern Canadian VMS dealerships with and without in-house dealer advisors regarding
how customers are supported post-sale.
Survey Eastern Canadian VMS customers on satisfaction levels of support based upon type of
dealership structure.
Use survey data to determine if differences are present with customer satisfaction based upon
dealership structure/support roles.
Present findings to assist with the development of the Dairy Advisory strategy and structure,
including dealership development. Information gathered from Eastern Canada can be universal
because it is a mature VMS market.

DeLaval Internship: Dairy Advisory Internship
Intern Project description:
To date, the only national benchmarking for parlor performance is over 9 years old, and is only related to 3x Holstein herds. There is no standard for 2x or for other breeds. This leaves benchmarking individual herds to chance and word of mouth. Large customers have been requesting this information from DeLaval during the sales and start-up process. DeLaval Dairy Advisory is seeking an intern who will assist mentors with the following tasks:
Compile milking performance data from large conventional (rotary and parlor) dairy farms across
the US to create a Parlor Performance KPI Summary Report.
Use data to create performance targets based upon type of parlor, milking’s, and breeds.
Present how to use and interpret this report as well as work with mentors to create official KPI
bench marks for performance based on data findings.
Data collected will be utilized to influence the development of Consulta for conventional herds.
