2023 Scholarship
The Mid Atlantic Certified Crop Advisers (MACCA) has established a scholarship
program, that will award up to two deserving students with scholarships up to $1,000
each ($500 for each semester) enrolled in an agronomy related program at an
accredited junior college or university. Up to one year after college graduation,
recipients will have the opportunity to take the CCA Exam, free of cost.
The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial support to students interested in
pursuing a career in plant and soil sciences. Given the declining number of students
enrolled in agronomy related programs in our region, the Mid Atlantic Certified Crop
Advisers believe it is important to encourage students to consider careers in agronomy
by supporting their educational needs through financial support.
Eligibility
Applicants must be a resident of or attending school in the Mid-Atlantic region
(Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, or West Virginia). Students must be enrolled
in or accepted to a 2-year or 4-year institution working towards a degree in agronomy
or related field. Masters and graduate students will be considered for the opportunity
to take the CCA Exam free of cost, but will not be eligible for a financial contribution
towards tuition. Students are only eligible to receive the scholarship two times.
Selection
The Mid Atlantic Certified Crop Advisers Scholarship Committee will select the
scholarship recipients with all personal information redacted. The selection will be
based on the student's agricultural background, relevant field involvement, financial
need, grade point average, agronomic related studies, career goals, and extracurricular
activities.
Application Process
Interested students should return a complete application. Online applications can be
found on our website at www.midatlanticcca.org. The scholarship committee may
request additional information prior to the selection. Applications must be received by
Friday, February 24, 2023. Please mail to the address above, or email to
jenell.mdag@gmail.com.
