Summary of Role
The Social Media Marketing Intern will be responsible for completing three separate rotations across the following integrated marketing disciplines: Organic Social Media, Paid Social Media, and Vertical Video Development. The Social Media Marketing Intern will be assigned specialized projects across each discipline throughout the course of the internship. This unique rotational program will allow the Social Media Marketing Intern to experience the variety within marketing activation and offers foundational knowledge to prepare for future opportunities in the field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
o Learn from subject matter experts about different marketing activation strategies and processes within the integrated marketing team.
o Make recommendations about process efficiencies and ways of working at conclusion of program.
o Create, post, and analyze organic and paid social media content.
o Apply learned knowledge from marketing courses to assigned projects and team interactions.

PROJECTS
o Assist in engaging social communities in ongoing and seasonal campaign activations.
o Engage with existing social media audiences and audiences outside Organic Valley’s current audience.
o Assist in setting up social media ads, including but not limited to Meta and Pinterest platforms.
o Create ads for social platforms, including but not limited to Meta and Pinterest, from writing copy to working with creative for imagery.
o Perform a content audit for Organic Valley social media channel content on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest and provide recommendations to the social media team based on learnings.
o Develop seasonal content recommendations for Organic Valley social media channel content on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and Pinterest.
o Analyze industry trends on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and Pinterest.
o Recommend and develop trending vertical video content.
o Evaluate new channel opportunities for organic social media.
o Determine content for vertical video channels based on brand voice, trends and relevant topics.
o Produce and publish vertical video content.
o Support the eCommerce team in the planning, execution, and analysis of a special project for the Organic Valley direct to consumer website.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities
o Meet with stakeholders across CROPP to discuss their roles and performance goals
o Prepare final report following each rotation to present to key stakeholders and leadership

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
o Currently enrolled in post-secondary education with one year or less from graduation required.
o Currently working towards a degree in marketing, communications or public relations preferred.
o Strong interest in and aptitude for marketing data analysis
o Course work in digital marketing/social media required.
o Strong communication skills; both verbal and written required.
o Proficient with Microsoft Office programs required.
o Ability to prioritize workload and responsibilities effectively.
o Ability to work individually and in a team environment.
o Strong organizational and time management skills.
o Interest in organic and working with farmers and cooperative business model preferred.

Internship Program Overview
o Furnished housing provided in downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin.
o Program concludes after 12 weeks (first week of June start date)
o Engaging and project-based experiences with a leading organic food brand
o Experience our mission first-hand on an Organic Valley farm tour
o Understand the impact and importance of your role through a specially designed New Hire Orientation course
o Network and learn from our business leaders in a "Learn The Co-op Series"
o Various intern group events held throughout the summer
o Interns are paid hourly for time worked
o Interns are responsible for transportation to and from work
