Do Good Institute Programs & Opportunities

The Do Good Institute is excited to open applications for our Fall 2024 opportunities. This includes Do Good Accelerator Fellows, Changemaker Pathways, Mini-Grants and our newly launched program, Impact Bootcamp! Keep your eye out for even more exciting programs and opportunities opening soon, including the Do Good Campus Fund and Do Good Challenge.


Applications Opening September 16

  • Do Good Campus Fund
    • The Do Good Campus Fund supports the substantial efforts happening across the University of Maryland to reimagine learning in service of humanity inside and outside the classroom. The Provost and the Do Good Institute, in collaboration with the Do Good Campus Strategic Leadership Council, will award up to $320,000 this academic year to faculty, staff and student groups. Applications are open until November 4 at go.umd.edu/dogoodcampusfund.

Applications Closing September 15

  • Changemaker Pathways
    • Explore ways that you can Do Good in your personal, professional and educational life through this 6-week experiential program for first-year, second-year and transfer students. Register now through September 15 at go.umd.edu/changemakerpathways.
  • Impact Bootcamp
    • Take your passion and turn it into progress. Have an idea but unsure where to start? Need help improving your existing efforts? Start or strengthen your social impact alongside fellow changemakers through this 6-week interactive program for students or teams with new ideas or existing initiatives. Register now through September 15 at go.umd.edu/impactbootcamp.
  • Accelerator Fellows
    • Spend the semester scaling and advancing your project or venture and receive a $2,000 stipend. Accelerator Fellows is a great fit for students and teams currently in the implementation stage of their work. Apply now through September 15 at go.umd.edu/acceleratorfellows.

Applications Closing November 3

  • Mini-Grants
    • Receive up to $750 in funding to support your social impact proposal to do good on or off campus. Mini-Grants are available for student-led and student-run projects, ventures, programs or events that aim to create a positive social or environmental impact. Apply now through November 3 at go.umd.edu/minigrants.

  • Do Good Information Sessions
    • New to UMD? Heard of Do Good Institute but don’t know what we do? Join one of our in-person or virtual information sessions to learn about the Do Good Institute, what we offer, and how you can get involved. Learn about our immersive programs, funding opportunities, and internship experiences available to help you make a difference while at UMD.
