- See more below...
My name is Darryl Forest, I’m the entomologist at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. The National Gallery of Art, founded as a gift to the nation, serves as a center of visual art, education, and culture. Our collection of more than 150,000 paintings, sculpture, decorative arts, photographs, prints, and drawings spans the history of Western art and showcases some of the triumphs of human creativity. The gallery is currently looking for an entomology intern from local colleges and universities like University of Maryland to work with the chief entomologist at NGA. Museum pest entomology is a growing field, and many museums and art galleries are now starting to employ entomologists as part of their art preservation teams. Since museum entomology is a relatively new field, we want to help an individual fully understand the intricacies of working in a museum if they wan to pursue this avenue of museum entomology. Could you pass this along, to any interested students’ undergraduates or graduates, I have enclosed more information on the entomology internship position and a link to the application. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you so much for your time.
