We are looking for a person interested in starting a career in production horticulture and someone at or nearing the end of their academic work. This is the perfect internship for an undergrad entering their final year or a recent grad looking for a foot-in-the-door opportunity. Education or experience in horticulture, farming, or related field is important. This internship will expose you to cutting edge nursery production techniques and technologies. You’ll learn about our innovative crop rotation system, in-row cover cropping, advanced drip irrigation management, and operation of the nation’s first USDA Certified ORGANIC nursery. Specific duties include (but are certainly not limited to): General farm management (tilling, mowing, fixing things etc.); Planting and caring for thousands and thousands of trees; Supporting our Integrated Pest and Weed Management programs; Operating a range of farm equipment — tractors, loaders, specialty machines; Supporting sales and marketing staff with inventory management, farm tours, and order processing; and Assist with development of some of the most innovative, progressive, and sustainable nursery production techniques anywhere...seriously. The position is full time, requires you to work (it IS a job), and you’ll be outside most of the time (duh.) This internship requires physical labor, ability to safely operate equipment, and a tolerance for all (ALL) environmental conditions. This is a paid internship: $15/hr. Timing is flexible but the internship is generally expected to run from May through August. Please email your resume and letter to: Steve@Raemelton.com
