We are looking for some amazing individuals to join our Pack Shed crew to work with our team to wash, sort and pack high quality, all local produce for the best customers in the region!
Primary Responsibilities

Drivers load their trucks first thing in the morning. Farm Manager Position at Moon Valley Farm
Moon Valley Farm is hiring for a rare opportunity -- Farm Production Manager! Moon Valley Farm is seeking an experienced farmer to lead our farm production team. This is a leadership role for someone who is passionate about organic vegetable agriculture, committed to compliance and innovation and motivated to adapt as climate change and market interests evolve.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and grow the farm production crew, including hiring, training, scheduling, safety, and compliance.
Oversee all aspects of crop production: greenhouses, field preparation, seeding, transplanting, cultivation, irrigation, fertigation, pest management, and harvest readiness.
Manage year-round growing systems: ensure greenhouse seedlings are on schedule, healthy, and supported by proper infrastructure; coordinate year-round field production for steady crop supply.
Submit and maintain compliance with all certifications:
Organic and real organic certification
GAP + Food Safety Certification compliance, including record-keeping and staff adherence
Employee safety and training records
Manage budgets for seed sourcing, inputs, amendments, and equipment maintenance.
Maintain detailed records for seed purchases, soil samples, crop inputs, equipment use, spray logs, yields, and other required documentation.
Ensure clear communication with farm leadership, especially with the owner (Emma) and managers of sales, marketing, aggregation, and packshed.
Lead production-related projects: identify opportunities, draft grant proposals, and manage funded projects through completion.
Stay up-to-date with agricultural innovation, representing Moon Valley Farm at conferences, workshops, and educational opportunities.
Qualifications
Farm production experience
Strong people leadership, with experience managing growing teams of diverse skill levels.
Skilled project manager: able to set priorities, delegate effectively, and track progress toward goals.
Commitment to organic and regenerative farming practices, with a drive for innovation and continuous improvement.
Proficiency in tractor operations and mechanized farm systems.
Familiarity with farm labor laws, workplace safety, and compliance systems.-Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail in both paperwork and production flow.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills under variable conditions.-Bilingual ability a plus (Spanish + English)
Equally comfortable working with plants, people, and financial data
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Position: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (with seasonal flexibility; heavier in summer). $75,000 annually, with performance-based bonus opportunities

International Plant Production Society (IPPS) Conference - Scholarships to Attend
The International Plant Production Society (IPPS) Eastern Region offers scholarships for qualifying students to cover registration costs for our Annual Conference, October 14-17, in Louisville, KY. Students may apply for a scholarship to attend 1,2,3 or all 4 days of the event.
The annual conference is a fantastic opportunity to network and build invaluable relationships with the best in the business from across the country. The four-day conference consists of behind-the-scenes tours to local nurseries and botanic gardens as well as an educational session of thought-provoking talks by industry experts and business professionals A poster session, plant auctions, and time to socialize round out the event.
A generous number of student scholarships are available. The estimated value of the scholarships varies from $75 to $500, depending on the length of attendance. This is not a cash award but a complimentary registration. Students are responsible for their travel and overnight accommodations.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Candidate must be enrolled in a horticulture or other plant-related program of study and be an active student at the time of the conference.
