Communications Intern Application
Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The College of Agricultural and Natural Resources (AGNR) Maryland Agricultural Experiment Station is hiring a communications intern to create social media content, participate in food and agriculture research storytelling, and do web design.
Essential Duties:
- Social media marketing
- Work with faculty to develop news articles for web and print media
- Travel to MAES Research and Education Centers (farms) to gather content and cover events
- Videography and content production/editing
- Photography
- Web design
- Create social and web graphics using Canva
Qualifications:
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Currently enrolled in a degree program at the University of Maryland. (Preferred majors: journalism, communications, or agriculture-related field)
- Effective communication (verbal and written), administrative, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in social media platforms, web publishing, and ability to integrate stories across several platforms
- Proficiency in filming and editing on Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or similar platform
- Valid Noncommercial Class C or equivalent driver’s license
