Matching is complete for the original Intern for a Day program, but there are still a number of hosts available that can provide great shadowing experiences to Terps! Take advantage of this opportunity to connect with a professional in the field you're exploring.

The Baltimore Environmental Police provides police services and conducts environmental protection for the Baltimore Metropolitan water supply serving 1.6 million users and covering 215 square miles. We perform traditional law enforcement duties as well as Natural Resource law and environmental law. Students will get a tour of the city reservoir, dam and critical infrastructure as well as ride along with one of our officers on patrol.

Crossroads Community Food Network is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to building the food system of the
Takoma/Langley Crossroads through a variety of programs, including microenterprise business training,
a shared-use community kitchen, and healthy eating education for students and parents!
Are you passionate about making access to healthy food more universal? We’re now seeking interns for a variety
of dynamic 2019 opportunities that support our farmers market vendors, market operations and programs,
and community outreach, as well as our community kitchen users and healthy eating education efforts.
Interns will have the opportunity to observe a unique farmers market established to address inequities that
exist in our food system. They will be involved in implementing a nutrition incentive program known as the
"Fresh Checks" program to support a more inclusive food system. Students interested in careers in public health,
international studies, food systems, agriculture, non profits, foreign languages (specifically Spanish, Amharic,
Tagalog, Vietnamese, and Chinese), social work, sustainability, and nutrition should apply!

  • Site is bus metro accessible

In order to have access to the application, you must attend one of two mandatory orientations available.  Orientations will take place in the University Career Center (3100 Hornbake Library, South Wing).
During this orientation, we will discuss the application process, workplace etiquette during your shadowing experience, and how to show appreciation to your host after the experience.  Applications will be due by Wednesday, March 13 at 11:59pm.

Previous Intern for a Day students still need to attend an orientation in order to be considered.
