UMD Beltsville Research Farm Student Worker Position

The University of Maryland’s Beltsville Research Farm is looking for a summer student to work on the research farm. This position would be from the end of this spring semester to the beginning of the fall semester.

We cover the areas of Plant Science, Entomology, Soil Science, Cover Crops, Soil Fertility, and Disease Research. Our crops include Corn, Soybeans, Wheat, Barley, Tobacco, Cotton, Chickpeas, Black Beans, Potato, Sweet Corn and many Vegetables Crops.

Responsibilities:
  • Helping researchers and grad students with their projects
  • Helping with irrigation, planting, harvesting
  • Plot maintenance and mowing grass

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Operate self-powered machinery
  • Work outside in a hot and humid environment
  • Must be a UMD student
  • Have valid driver’s license

Salary/Benefits: Hourly pay is $11.92 per hour.
