Veteran's Day Service and Lunch on Nov. 11th

Join us on Monday November 11, 12-1 pm to honor our Veteran community! Enjoy remarks from UMD veterans Sara Olsen and Jack Baker.

Currently a PhD student in the School of Public Health, Sara Olsen completed nine years of active duty and several combat deployments as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal officer in the U.S. Navy. Inspired by her post-active duty work in training wounded warriors, she became one of the founders of the Crossroads Adaptive Athletic Alliance, a nonprofit designed to increase inclusive fitness for all people with disability.

At present a director in the facility management staff, Jack Baker came to the University in 1992 after serving twenty years overseas and stateside in the U.S. Air Force. Having reached the rank of Colonel, he retired as the Military Assistant to the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Installations.

MannerMusik and the Mighty Sound of Maryland will provide music for the event and a complimentary lunch will follow. To learn more, visit: go.umd.edu/vetshonor
