Second Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at Wilmington Country Club

Wilmington Country Club is currently preparing to host the 2022 BMW Championship. In association with architect Andrew Green, renovations and additions are on-going to the Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed South Course with the installation of Capillary Concrete to all bunker complexes and teeing grounds to contest the top 70 players on the PGA TOUR.

Wilmington Country Club continues to be one of the finest private country clubs in the United States, with a primary emphasis on meeting the desires of its members, their families, and their personal guests. The Club’s property encompasses 335 acres, consisting of 36-holes of golf and practice areas, including the Dick Wilson-designed North Course; racquets amenities with clay courts, grass courts, hard courts, paddle courts, and squash courts.

A four-year or two-year degree in Turf Management or a similar field preferred. The candidate will have at least two years of practical experience with irrigation and hand watering; chemical and fertilizer applications and calibration.

The Grounds Department maintains a strong team-centric atmosphere, using their tenets to promote a culture of excellence and learning. They emphasize promoting within their ranks. The successful candidate will gain experience with all facets of golf management, including budgeting and project management. An example of this will include further tournament preparations in the fall of 2021; a tee through green renovation of the North Course, including a campus-wide irrigation installation.

Additional Salary Information: Paid time off, as well as, scheduled time off; meals, uniforms, health, dental, vision, and STD/ LTD coverage.
