Next Friday, March 1st, Andrea Simao and Cheryle O’Donnell, both of whom work within APHIS PPQ (Plant Protection and Quarantine), the federal agency that safeguards U.S. agriculture & natural resources against the entry, establishment, and spread of economically and environmentally significant pests, and facilitates the safe trade of agricultural products, will share a brief overview of the work of the APHIS nationally and around the world, and will talk about their respective career paths - what led them to work for APHIS in the beginning, their career interests, what their positions involve and what it is like to work within a large organization. It will include tips and advice for anyone seeking eventual employment with APHIS.
