Common Good City Farm

Common Good City Farm in Washington DC is hiring for a Farm Educator to work with adults and teens. We are an urban farm located in the LeDroit Park neighborhood with the mission to sustain and support a more equitable community through growing, learning, cooking and sharing fresh food together.  Find the full position description on our website


The Farm Educator role supports the Certificate Program in Regenerative Urban Agriculture. It is one of the first certificate programs of its kind focusing on urban small-space growing, regenerative techniques, carbon sequestration, and climate resilience. The Farm Educator will work in collaboration with the Farm Production Manager and with the support and assistance of Common Good staff and volunteers.  Job responsibilities will include:

Execution and Management of Certificate Program in Regenerative Agriculture

Management of Partnership with McKinley Tech High School 

Coordination of Youth Internship Program

Organizational Support

 

Qualifications

·      Experience teaching high school students and adults

·      DCPS Background Clearance or willingness to obtain

·      Experience working with regenerative agriculture techniques

·      Ability to modify and adapt curriculum

·      Must have availability to teach a class on Saturdays, and occasional additional availability on weekends

·      Must have availability on weekday evenings, specific weekday evenings to be determined
