program abroad for undergraduate and graduate students from all academic disciplines, where you will spend your summer in a Latin American country observing, creating and implementing sustainable business solutions to poverty-related challenges.
SPRING: Prior to departure, participate in a spring course at UMD (Wednesday nights, March 27th - May 8th) that introduces you to the theory and practice of social entrepreneurship and its potential to transform communities while preparing you for your summer fieldwork.
SUMMER: Spend eight weeks immersed in your destination country while learning about social entrepreneurship through consulting with local businesses and implementing development projects with rural populations.
FALL: Upon returning to campus, complete a reflection course to apply the skills learned abroad to your future coursework, career and your own entrepreneurial ideas.
